I think every kid is an artist and it gradually gets beaten out of them as they grow up.  'No Billy, cows aren't purple,' that kind of stuff.  And I always remember this study where a teacher went into a first grade class and asked, 'How many of you are artists?'  And of course the whole class raises their hands.  Then her goes to second grade and asks the same questions and gets the same results, the stuff is hanging on the fridge, the parents love it, all kids raising their hands.  But by the time he gets up to sixth or seventh grade and asks the same question, only a couple of kids raise their hands.

I shot a wedding yesterday for my friend Adam.  Congrats to Adam and Shelby, I've met few couples who genuinely act like best friends with each other.  Oh ya... and the song they chose for their dance is one my favorites.

At this point in my career it seemed a bit surreal to me to take Kelly Slater's portrait yesterday considering the last post I put on here was a video about him.  He is a great human being.  As someone who takes in a lot of attention and responsibility, he is a extremely level headed and humble.  Someone definitely worth looking up to.
