Women have raided most of my family since I've been alive, it's nice to see that it's about to change with some fresh new faces. My cousin's boys from top to bottom: Justice and Gavin.

4th st. Fair

Some of the colors from the 4th street fair last weekend in Tucson. A great place to hangout for the day, eat some amazing fried food, people watch and buy some gifts for Christmas. Always a great way to start the break.

Lemmon

Drove up to Mt. Lemmon tonight. Wasn't very smart considering by the 14th mile out of town we couldn't see 15 ft in front of us. It was snowing pretty hard. Only about a 45 minute drive from the city of Tucson. Arizona has some strange weather. Driving on the road was interesting. It felt kind of like a video game, a really old video game, where the computer couldn't process the information fast enough. The soft sheet of snow was a continuous curtain that revealed more obstacles in front of us. A little unsettling. The boys at the Sheriff's department were holding it down. Got a couple good shots of em. And some great... but creepy, but still great photographs. The 2nd photograph from the top looks like it was from the book The Polar Express. Maybe I'm just excited about Christmas...

The American Spirit

Screwing around with my photos. I can't stop laughing when I look at it.

Fiddler on the 4th

Interviewed an amazing musician on 4th today. It was nice to watch someone play music for music's sake. He really had a passion for it, you could hear it in his voice...

Benny

Took some photos yesterday of my friend Ben Ross. A great bassist at the U of A school of music. He's got an infectious slap to his strings, its fun to watch him play.

One

Latest photo project. My friend Trevor and I surfed Trestles last weekend and I got some great photos out of it. Writing and photography has taken up my life for the past 2 weeks. Hopefully when winter break comes around I can actually surf. I'm looking forward to a good winter swell and mom's cooking.

The Fantastic Mr. Fox

Go see The Fantastic Mr. Fox. It is playing in most movie theaters. If someone tells you they are creeped out by the dolls, like many people have told me, tell them to take their head out of their _ _ _. This is one of the best films I have seen in a while. The NyTimes quotes, "Once you adjust to its stop-and-start rhythms and its scruffy looks, you can appreciate its wit, its beauty and the sly gravity of its emotional undercurrents."

Digital to 35mm

I'm enjoying the design process with photos. Taking the digital into the 35mm realm. I have always had a fascination with 35mm ever since I saw the film "One California Day". There is a nostalgic quality to 35mm no matter what time of the day, or year it was shot in, it will always give you that fuzzy warm feeling. Much like anything in black and white, it has a quality that digital color just doesn't posses. The French would say it has a certain je ne sais quoi.

A boat just so happened to stop by while we surfed. We didn't mind...

Cat Walk 09'

The CatWalk was on the mall today. I had the privilege of talking with Lute Olson, former UA basketball coach, and Dr. Alberts, the leading doctor in the country for cancer research. I also met a woman who had a group of other supporters with her to walk for her mom, who had previously died of cancer. They were all wearing shirts that said "Team Cheryl". It was inspiring to talk with her and witness the overhwelming support from her friends. Thank you Heather.

Portraits

A couple of the portraits I'm taking of the faculty in the College of Art.
